Elsbeth van Dam is an experienced Research Engineer at the Noldus Innovation Works group of Noldus in Wageningen, Netherlands. She received her MA degree in Philosophy of Science at the Radboud University in Nijmegen, The Netherlands. She joined Noldus Information Technology in 2004 as a software engineer and worked as a Computer Vision Researcher since 2007. Her main field of expertise is pattern recognition and action classification. She is responsible for the automated recognition of rodent behaviour from video that was published and released in 2013 and more recently has focused on automatic recognition of human behaviours from video. She supervised several Marie Skłodowska Curie PhD students and is currently project leader for the FP7 PhenoRat project.
